In order to progress for future purposes I need to evaluate and reflect upon the things that I need to improve on and things that I did well.
Problem prevention - At the beginning we did not have a clear inventory list, lanterns had not been gathered, labelled and stored together. The gel frames did not have a completed list and we struggled to move as fast as we should have been moving due to us creating the missing lists and inventories. Next time I will use every available resource to compile an accurate list then make sure any excess work is done as earliest as possible.
Troubleshooting - During the rigging stage me and my lighting design partner felt a little discomferted by the fact that the inventory was not completely full to our expectations and therefore we did not troubleshoot as fast as we could of; we lacked the skill to solve problems on the spot and it took is a little longer than it should have complete the schedule. However in future I will know to look at all possibilities for lighting design and to not be hesitant as every second counts as well as have a detailed inventory list.
Authority - During the rigging there was the slightest bit of confusion as to whether my partner and I should have been able to tell the riggers where things needed to be; even though some of them were only giving advice and trying to help, me and my partner decided it would be better to stick to the original plan and not to over complicate things. In future to resolve this I would have a printed copy of all the instructions and essentials needed to complete the rigging on the night, and would stand by to act as guidance for anybody who needed it.
This is an example of me leading the plotting session.
